Biography:
Bill Mueller was Director of the Western Great Lakes Bird & Bat Observatory, in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, where he worked as an ornithologist and conservation biologist. Bill was Conservation Chair of the Wisconsin Society for Ornithology from 2002 through fall of 2012, is the past co-chair of the WI Bird Conservation Partnership (WBCP)’s Issues Committee and a current member of WBCP's Steering Committee, and is past co-chair of the Midwest Aerial Insectivore Working Group. Bill was Project Coordinator for the Milwaukee BIOME Project, a group of twelve scientists and over 150 volunteers, operating in partnership with faculty and staff from Milwaukee’s Urban Ecology Center, the Wisconsin DNR, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Auburn University, working on migratory stopover ecology of birds in Wisconsin’s largest urban area.

- decline of aerial insectivores
Recent scholarly activity:
I teach several workshops for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I am currently researching the decline of insectivorous birds in the Upper Midwest.
