Biography:

I am a sociologist with a background in quantitative methods and in survey design and analysis. Over the years, I have applied my background to public opinion research and social research in a wide variety of international endeavors. In recent years, I have focused some of my energies on research in Central Asia where I have systematically and empirically explored ethnic boundaries as well as the mosaic of Muslim religious practices and beliefs. I have taught, mentored, and consulted throughout my career. In addition, I have published as an independent scholar.

Current research areas:

My current research is focused on an empirical exploration of the role of Muslim religiosity in ethnic Kyrgyz’ acceptance/tolerance of ethnic Uzbeks living in Kyrgyzstan.
